On the rare occasion that Seattle has sunny blue skies (and I'm off), Ian & I like to head into Seattle do some exploration. We got ourselves up incredibly early this morning to get ourselves a spot in the hottest dim sum restaurant in the International District, Jade Garden (on the corner of 7th Ave S & S King Street). It may not be your fanciest spot but it's as authentic and tasty as dim sum gets. I dare you to go to Jade Garden and not find a 30 minute + wait list.
Afterwards we explored the surrounding small shops in the international district, including a quant bubble tea spot called Gossip Espresso & Tea (shown above), an aquarium, and a tea shop. Then it was off to Pike!
Besides picking up our usual specialty pastas inside of Pike Place Market, we found quite a few wonderful new shops. We found a beautiful store called Bella Umbrella that sells/rents vintage umbrellas for weddings and so forth. We also discovered the Chocolate Box (shown below) and tried one of their signature beverages, Sorbet Fresco!
Lol I love this picture above. The man looks so darn sweet standing there so patiently for his wife, yet when you look at his face it seems like grumpy! Not only that, doesn't he look like the old guy in "UP"?? JN
